Many of you have gotten to know Jason Spicer during a visit to your office or while he’s helped you on the phone. As a part of our technical staff, he can be found working the help desk and doing behind the scenes work on server administration and server and network maintenance. But there is so much more happening with this valuable Providence team member that we just have to share it!
Jason joined Providence in 2009 after working in the tool and die industry for 17 years. Due to the decline in manufacturing in Michigan, he began looking for a career in a stable and growing industry. Jason followed his passion for computers and information technology to Lansing Community College where he met Providence president Jeff Dettloff and began working with us through an internship program.
By the summer of 2011, Jason had gained enough knowledge and experience to be promoted to the position of Level 2 Tech. This fall has been a busy time for him as he is finishing his last semester at LCC. He will graduate this December with an Associate’s Degree in Business from the Network and Security Management Academy.
And if that wasn’t enough, Jason also found the time last month to complete the Apple Consultants Network Mobility Technical Competency training. Providence joined the Apple Consultants Network (ACN) in September of this year, and Jason will be using his new knowledge to help you get a good return on your investment in iPads, iPhones and other mobile devices.
Jason enjoys his work at Providence, and says “Every day is a new challenge. I enjoy tackling these challenges and finding ways to resolve the problems facing our customers. It means that I’m constantly improving my skills and growing as a technician.”
When he’s not busy working or finishing up his degree at LCC, Jason spends his free time with his wife and two children, and makes himself available to help his family and friends when they need him. An avid fitness buff, Jason’s friends and co-workers benefit from his many years of experience with fitness and health, and often turn to him for advice with designing a workout or improving their diet.
