Providence Consulting Earns CompTIA Security Trustmark™

Award-Winning Technology Service Provider Further Distinguishes Itself by Earning a Highly Respected Cybersecurity Credential

Lansing, MI – February 25th, 2015 – Providence Consulting announced today that it has been
awarded the CompTIA Security TrustmarkTM from CompTIA, the non-profit association for the
world’s Information Technology (IT) industry.

The CompTIA Security TrustmarkTM identifies Information Technology Solution Providers that consistently follow security best practices. This vendor-neutral, business-level credential was developed with the support of technology companies at the forefront of the IT security industry. The standards employed within the CompTIA Security Trustmark Framework have been agreed upon by key vendors, solution providers, and end users in the IT industry. “The CompTIA Security Trustmark signifies that Providence adheres to our industry’s highest standards for security practices and business processes in critical areas such as data protection, personnel security and access management,” said Nancy Hammervik, senior vice president, industry relations, CompTIA. “Providence clients can rest assured that their data is being handled by an organization that takes security seriously and professionally.”

“Data protection and cybersecurity have always been a vital part of the consulting and support services that we provide our clients,” said Jeff Dettloff, Providence Consulting’s President and Chief Problem Solver. “Today there is an ever increasing need for organizations of all sizes to protect their data, especially if they collect and store any personally identifiable information on their customers, patients, or employees. The Security Trustmark validates that we know how to protect that sensitive data, as well as help organizations identify regulatory compliance gaps and address their concerns in the areas of IT security policies, processes and planning.” To earn the CompTIA Security Trustmark, Providence conducted an extensive evaluation of their Administrative, Physical, and Technical controls. This included security policies, capabilities, practices, and processes in areas such as:
